Toby is a Director at Norgate McLean Dolphin with over 17 years legal experience. Prior to joining Norgate McLean Dolphin Toby worked for five years in the Corporate Advisory Team at Mills Oakley where he was involved in a wide range of M&A and capital raising transactions as well as general commercial arrangements in diverse industries.

Toby’s experience also includes four years co-managing the legal and market supervision teams at the New Zealand Stock Exchange (NZX). This role gave him close involvement and insight into many of New Zealand’s biggest corporate transactions.

  • The managing shareholders of a media, digital and advertising company specializing in creation of branded television commercials in the sale of the business to a large Australian listed company.
  • A Swiss multi-national conveyer belt manufacturer in the acquisition of its Australian distributor.
  • The Australia head office of a large French multi-national car and vehicle rental company in numerous purchases of its franchisee businesses.
  • A New Zealand listed operator of well known campervan brands in the acquisition of an Australian campervan business.

  • A New Zealand clean-tech company in its trans-Tasman IPO (being the first trans-Tasman IPO of equity under the mutual recognition of securities regime).
  • Stock broking firms on their underwriting of various capital raising transactions.
